The Setouchi Semiconductor Consortium, established in 2023, is an industry–government–academia collaboration with equal partnership. Many enterprises, municipalities, and ministries cooperate in the consortium.

Research Center for Biomedical Engineering

The center conducts joint research on biomaterials, medical devices, and systems by integrating the institutional functions of Tokyo Medical and Dental University, the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Hiroshima University, and Shizuoka University.

ARIM
Advanced Research Infrastructure for Materials and Nanotechnology

The program, part of MEXT's Material DX Platform, offers shared facilities and equipment from 25 universities. Hiroshima University focuses on research support for SiC, GaN semiconductors, and solar cells.

XNICS
Initiative to Establish Next-generation Novel Integrated Circuits Centers (X-NICS)

As part of MEXT's X-NICS initiative, the institute collaborates with Tokyo Institute of Technology and Toyohashi University of Technology to develop a green semiconductor industry and lower its environmental impact.
